Detox w/o Drainage...Scary!

by Glen Depke

Most everybody has heard about detoxification but very few are familiar with drainage. The interesting fact though, is that drainage is actually more important than the detoxification. You'll "get" this today.

If you have been following Depke Wellness for some time, you already know that I am not a fan of moving into detoxification too quickly. I have listed some bullet points to refresh your memory to why detoxification too quickly is an issue:
  • Most individuals with chronic health issues are simply too weak to go through an aggressive detoxification program
  • Many that are in a detox program are doing so with a less than optimally functioning blood/brain barrier
  • This poor blood/brain barrier function will lead to detoxification symptoms such as headaches, body aches, fatigues and so much more
  • Almost 100% of health challenged individuals have adrenal challenges and your adrenal glands play a role in every level of detoxification
  • Due to the fact that our world is so toxic, most push detoxification too quickly
  • Some people are actually too lean to detoxify in a healthy way

Before we move on, first understand that your systems of detoxification and elimination include the:
  • Liver
  • Kidneys
  • Colon
  • Lymphatic system
  • Skin
  • Lungs
We'll first discuss the liver, understanding that your liver is going to actually address approximately 80% of detoxification in your body through a phase I and phase II detoxification.

Phase I liver detoxification is often referred to as biotransformation. Within this biotransformation, enzymes change the biochemical structure of toxins, drugs, etc., which are fat soluble into water-soluble metabolites. This process  is governed by at least 50 different enzymes and this primary enzyme system is known as the cytochrome P450 (CP450) system. Simply put, toxins are converted to water soluble metabolites. These metabolites are usually less active, but they can be even more toxic than the original toxin. It is important that these metabolites are processed and excreted. If not, they will accumulate in the tissues of the body rather than in the bloodstream. These can be deposited in the fatty tissue, connective tissue and/or nervous system tissue. As a side note, storing toxins in connective tissue and/or nervous system tissue can be a very painful experience but generally only and issue for those that are very lean.

I remember years ago when I was working along side Dr Mercola, we had a young woman (maybe late 20's or early 30's) come into the clinic that moved as if she was in her 80's, and I mean an unhealthy 80's. You could actually see that pain on her face with every step and when she hit the chair in my office, she burst into tears. What you do not know is that she was very health conscious, very lean and fit. Just prior to coming into the clinic, she had all her silver amalgams removed improperly and this released a significant amount of toxins (mercury) into her body. Because she was so lean, there was not much fat tissue as a storage for these toxins, therefor connective tissue and nervous system tissue were the point of storage. I cannot begin to tell you how upset and distraught this woman was.

During phase II liver detoxification or also known as the conjugation pathways. Through different metabolic pathways, amino acids, sulfur, vitamins, minerals, and other natural substances bind or conjugate to the metabolites from the Phase I enzyme process so that they can be eliminated. If the nutrients needed to conjugate the toxins are in low supply, the toxins re-circulate as new toxins that are sometimes more toxic than the original toxin. You can tell that your phase II conjugation is sluggish if perfumes or scents start to create symptoms for you.

Also understand that hormones, natural waste products, medications, and fat-soluble vitamins are also broken down through the liver detoxification process.

Now as far as your kidneys are concerned they receive 20% of the blood pumped to the heart. As the blood flows to the kidneys they remove wastes and then return the processed, purified blood back to the body. Waste material and water leave the blood and enter the urinary system. Toxins then end up in the urine.

Within your lymphatic system, the lymph fluid picks up nutrients, hormones, waste products, bacteria, and cellular debris. Then your lymph nodes act as a toxin filter and the lymph fluid is circulated by physical activity (especially rebounding), deep breathing, massage and dry skin brushing.

Here's some more tidbits on detoxification:
  • Respiration: breathing (gas exchange), coughing, sneezing, clearing mucous
  • Skin: sweating, sebaceous gland secretion, tears, Epsom salt or sea salt baths, dry skin brushing
  • GI System: liver function, gallbladder, bowel and intestinal tract function
  • Kidneys: acid/alkaline balancing, urination, hydration with filtered water
  • Circulatory and lymph systems: blood flow, lymph circulation, and immune function
Now we can look deeper at the difference between detoxification and drainage. The term detoxification is usually referred to as the “release of toxins from their binding site” (the cell). Understand that the process of detox is not complete unless the toxins are actually eliminated from the body

The process of taking the toxin from the cell to its final elimination is called drainage. If adequate drainage does not occur with detox, it can lead to a phenomenon known as the toxic ping-pong effect. This toxic ping-pong effect is no game though. The toxic ping-pong effect occurs when toxins, instead of being eliminated, are simply relocated to a new binding site. This occurs when detoxification is undertaken without appropriate drainage therapy and the body cannot handle the extra stress from stirred-up toxins.

Failure to eliminate the toxins can lead to systemic toxicity.

Remember that we mentioned earlier that during phase I liver detoxification the toxins are actually more toxic then they were in the beginning.

With your new understandings, is drainage important? You bet it is and so important that if you are detoxifying without proper drainage, you're doing nothing but asking for trouble.

Here at Depke Wellness we regularly walk our clients through a 30 day program that focuses on detoxification along with you guessed it, DRAINAGE. We also encourage other lifestyle factors to assist both the detoxification and drainage process.

Detox, Detox, Detox...

by Glen Depke

How many of you are familiar with this scenario?

Near the onset of your work with a natural health practitioner, you complete either a hair or urine analysis to discover that you have heavy metal toxicity. With much concern, your health expert enters into a dissertation on the dangers of heavy metal toxicity, how this is the very reason for your health concerns and insists that you start to detox, detox, detox.

With much excitement, you enter into this detoxification protocol. The challenge though, is that only a short time into this, you feel worse than ever. Headaches, fatigue, aches and pains and so much more. You share this with your health expert, only for them to say, "it's detoxification symptoms and this is expected."

Really...you should expect to feel like crap! Don't "buy" it.

There is an easier way and so much more to understand about detoxification.

Today we will address the subjects below.
  • How to detox without symptoms
  • When to NOT detox mercury
  • The adrenal tie into detoxification
  • The use of fruits and veggies for detoxification
  • Supplement use for detoxification
First let's address detoxification without symptoms.

To address this properly, it is important to understand how your body moves through the detoxification process. Toxins are most often stored in the tissue of your body. This could be connective tissue, nervous system tissue of the preferred fat tissue. When toxins are moving out they move from the tissue, into your lymphatic system then to the blood. From the blood the toxins should be removed via the kidneys/bladder, liver/colon, lungs and skin. The problem occurs though when you are attempting to detox when you have a poor blood/brain barrier function.

Understand that when your blood/brain barrier function is compromised, the toxins that should move from your blood to the kidneys/bladder, liver/colon, lungs and skin take another route. When this barrier function is week, the toxins will actually move into your brain and create a whole host of symptoms. As mentioned above, this may be headaches, fatigue, aches and pains or more.

So understand the when you are experiencing symptoms of detoxification you are likely dealing with a blood/brain barrier issue that needs to be addressed first. I use a simple test with clients in my office that I refer to as the GABA challenge to confirm a strong blood/brain barrier system. This is done by ingesting 1000mgs of GABA on an empty stomach. If you experience either a sedating or stimulating affect, this would tell us that the blood/brain barrier function is weak. If you feel nothing at all then you can feel confident in the integrity of your barrier function.

*Do not use the GABA challenge if you have to drive or operate any potentially dangerous machinery. This is due to the fact that you may become sedated.

The next subject is when to NOT detoxify mercury.

This is a simple subject. Do NOT detoxify mercury while you have silver amalgam fillings in your mouth. This is due to the fact that you could actually pull mercury from your teeth into your body. I always suggest to my clients to have their silver amalgam fillings properly removed first before we enter into any type of aggressive detoxification protocol.

The adrenal tie into detoxification.

There are two simple factors of detoxification that tie into adrenal function. The first is to understand that here at Depke Wellness, we have reviewed over 4,000 adrenal test kits and have seen less that 1/10 of one percent actually come back normal, healthy and balanced. Second is the fact that your adrenal function plays a direct role in all of your systems of detoxification and elimination. If you are attempting to detoxify with poor adrenal function, you will not reach optimal results. Follow this link to test your adrenal function today.

The use of fruit and veggies in detoxification.

It is very important to understand that the consumption of raw fruits and veggies are detoxifying foods. Very often the use of juicing of raw fruit and vegetables is recommended as a significant part of a detoxification protocol. While I do agree with this, I recommend fresh raw vegetable juice rather than fruit because of the high sugar content of fruit juice. This can actually create an imbalance in your digestive system and actually work against you. I also do not recommend a long term juice fast because this will often push detoxification too fast and lead to detox symptoms. Using your vegetable juicing along with your Nutritional ID meal plan will provide both a detoxifying as well as nutritive meal plan that will allow for optimal release of toxins.

Supplement use for detoxification.

The main supplement that I use in my practice for heavy metal detoxification is a product from Chi Enterprise called Metal Flush. This is a combination of Chinese herbs to enhance the body's ability to release heavy metals. I will most often recommend this in conjunction with a bath detox to assist release by your body. Click here to learn more about Metal Flush.

Another protocol that I have used often is a combination of a liquid garlic extract along with chlorella. I would use these together for at least 2 months and then add a cilantro extract to assist with pulling metals out of the brain. I do not add the cilantro at the beginning because you want to assist in clearing the tissue and the kidneys first. It is also helpful to add the bath detox with this protocol also.

I have used both of these protocols personally in my journey to escape mercury toxicity with great success.

Another protocol that I have introduced into my clinic is a system know as Detox 360, which is a dietary, supplemental and lifestyle approach to detoxification. If you would like to learn more about this click here for a complimentary webinar on Tuesday March 26th. By registering, you will also receive the replay of this event.

So in the end, make sure you do not "buy" into the thought that detoxification symptoms are normal. Understand that you should not introduce an aggressive mercury detox with silver amalgam fillings still in your mouth. And lastly, recognize the benefit of properly utilized vegetable juicing and supplements for detoxification.

Don't forget to register for the complimentary Detox 360 webinar above.

METAL FLUSH: Herbal Supplement to Assist Heavy Metal Toxicity

Exposure to heavy metals is impossible to escape from in this day and age. Exhaust from fumes, plastics, kitchen utensils, fish and even the air we breathe all contain heavy metal, such as lead, mercury, cadmium, aluminum and more.

Once accumulated, heavy metals can cause behavioral, mental and physical disorders. Children are especially vulnerable to the effects of heavy metals because of their delicate systems. It can cause learning disabilities, stunted growth, behavioral problems (restlesssness, short attention span) and impaired hearing. In adults, heavy metals can cause cardiovascular disease, neurological disorders (dizziness, tremors, inability to focus), and sexual dysfunction.

Removing heavy metals in a process called chelation is vital to everyone's health. Metal Flush is an all-herbal, oral chelating supplement with the following benefits:
  • It binds with lead, mercury, cadmium, aluminum, arsenic and many more heavy metals.
  • It safely removes heavy metals through two routes: the kidneys and gastrointestinal tract. In this way, it puts much less burden on the kidneys than conventional chelation.
  • It does not strip away essential minerals so there is no need for mineral supplementation during or after chelation.
  • It has been shown recover liver function from damage caused by heavy metals.
  • It is safe for children 3 years and older.
Heavy metals can deposit in the bones, fat, muscles and tissues over time. With Metal Flush, heavy metals in the bloodstream are continually removed. Eventually, metals that have deposited in the bones and tissues are released into the bloodstream to create equilibrium. This makes the heavy metals more accessible to Metal Flush for chelation.

Fruit is Not Good for Me?

by Glen Depke

This is a tricky question that honestly, I am not afraid to ask. I see more and more clients use fruit as a constant quick fix, push detoxification too quickly and create challenges for their liver with something that should be very health for us.

That something is fruit...

I first want to share that quality fruit used properly in your diet is a very positive impact for most. Unfortunately, most do not get quality and consistently over use fruit in their diet.

Let's first discuss the "quick fixing" problem that I see all the time.

Most of us have a perception that fruit is very good for us, so we tend to use this on a regular basis all year and actually create an overuse. What often happens is we either make poor nutritional choices or even quality nutritional choices that are not right for our Nutritional ID. When this occurs, we do not pull the necessary nutrients from our foods which leaves us with an energy deficit. When the body is deficient in energy, there is a strong desire to fill this void. Due to the fact that most if not all if us have had sugar often in our lives, our bodies understand that sugar is a quick fix for energy. Since most are quick fixing often if not regularly, we are often over consuming fruit, challenging blood sugar, increasing insulin, leading to gout, raising triglycerides and storing body fat...all with something "good" for us.

Yes, that something is often fruit.

It is easy to understand why we would do this if we are eating like garbage, but what if you are eating very well by conventional standards? This is often due to the fact that we are not eating according to our bio-chemical individuality. This leads to a poor food to energy ration and ultimately the need to "quick fix."

Before I go on I want to mention, if you do not know your Nutritional ID, follow this link for your complementary assessment

How can fruit challenge the liver?

Fruit will contain high amounts of sugar varied by the fruit as well as how ripe the fruit actually is. This fruit sugar is called fructose. Since fructose gets shuttled to your liver, and if you consume high amounts of it, fructose ends up taxing and damaging your liver in the same way alcohol and other toxins do. In fact, fructose is virtually identical to alcohol with regards to the metabolic havoc it wreaks.

Let me be clear that this is for those the over consume fruit. If you are like most that snack on fruit all day, that would be you.

Fruit and gout?

While most that think about gout focus on purine levels of proteins consumed, I would suggest that the larger problem is actually fructose. The link between fructose and uric acid is so strong that you can actually use your uric acid levels as a marker for fructose toxicity.  I would recommend everyone to have their uric acid level checked to find out how sensitive you are to fructose. As you know, two-thirds of the US population is overweight, and most of these people likely have uric acid levels well above 5.5. Many are even be closer to 10 or above. Measuring your uric acid levels is a very practical way to determine just how strict you need to be when it comes to your fructose consumption. As an example, if you're passionate about fruit and typically eat large amounts of it, but find out you have a uric acid level above 5 (or better yet, 4 if you're a man, and 3.5 if you're a woman), then you may want to consider lowering your fruit consumption until you've optimized your uric acid levels, to avoid harming your body.
You can refer to a recent blood chemistry profile to review your uric acid levels or thankfully you can test your uric acid levels at Walk In Labs for only $19.00 from virtually anywhere in the country.

How does fruit consumption push detoxification?

It is important to recognize that raw foods are used for cleansing and detoxification. Often when fruit is in high consumption and uric acids are up, this is pushing too great of a detoxification process. I will share that I am always careful with my clients to maintain a healthy and comfortable process and balance of detoxification and nourishment. Since most eat fruit raw and often over consume fruit, this can create too high of a detoxification to nourishment ratio.

So how much fruit sugar is actually in the fruit you consume?

Notice that the figures below are based on a one cup serving.
  • Grapes and strawberries are equivalent to 3 1/2 packets of sugar
  • Apples 6 1/2 packets
  • Pineapple 7 packets
  • Oranges 7 1/2 packets
  • Bananas 8 packets
  • Grapes 10 1/2 packets
The other factor to address is quality.

While this is a subject for another article in the future, I want to at least mention the importance of purchasing organic or locally grown fruit when available. If you must purchase conventionally grown, at least stay away for the highest pesticide toxicity fruits:
  • Apples
  • Strawberries
  • Peaches
  • Nectarines– imported
  • Grapes – imported
  • Blueberries– domestic

There's More to Detox than the Liver...

by Glen Depke

So how many of you have been on countless liver detoxifications, taken milk thistle for years but still don't see the benefit? How many have been detoxifying their liver for years with little to know results? Believe it or not, this is typically the case because there is so much more to detoxification than the liver.

First it is important to establish the fact that all your systems of elimination and detoxification need to be in proper function. This includes not only the liver but kidneys, lymphatic system, lungs, colon and skin.

Let's look at the liver itself though.

First understand that the job of your liver is to take hormones, drugs and other toxins and express hepatic transformation via the phase I and phase II pathways within the liver. They are then eliminated through the phase III pathway.

The two biggest impacts on your phase I and phase II pathways are tied into your hepatic genotype, which is your liver's genetic expression of detoxification and your lifestyle. The lifestyle impacts are based on your diet, lifestyle habits and use of drugs. I will list the lifestyle challenges below:

Diet:
  • Well done meats
  • Reduced vegetable consumption
  • Dioxin containing meats
  • Pesticide containing fruit & veggies
  • Hormone containing meats
Lifestyle:
  • Smoker
  • Car exhaust
  • Industrial solvent exposure
  • Contaminated lotions
  • Poor air quality
Drugs:
  • Alcohol
  • Recreational drugs
  • Prescription drugs
  • Over the counter drugs
  • Improperly prescribed hormones

Together your genotype and lifestyle choices will provide what is referred to as your hepatic phenotype or the expression of overall detoxification pathways via your liver.

Proper function on these levels will take the determined hormones, drugs and/or toxins, convert them from active materials into inactive metabolites and release through a healthy phase III. In a healthy body and healthy phenotype, this will cycle with ease.

If this proper function in any of the three phases of liver detoxification are less than optimal this will significantly hinder your body's ability to clear toxins. If this is the case, this will likely lead to brain disorders, auto immunity, chronic inflammatory conditions, chronic pain and adrenal dysfunction as well as many other potential imbalances.

I also want to bring up a very important point, recognizing that the proper function of these three phases of liver detoxification depend on healthy brain function. To be a bit more specific, the brain dopaminergic system has been established as an important center regulating the liver. As this dopamine system activity decreases, this is equally expressed in liver function.

Here is a list of clinical symptoms recognized with low dopamine.
  • Depressed thoughts
  • Inability to self motivate
  • Easily angered by trivial situations
  • Slowness of movements
  • Slowness of thoughts
  • Inability to start of finish tasks
It is equally important to recognize the tie of the Vagus nerve and your liver function. Remember from previous posts about the gut/brain connection that the Vagus nerve connects the brain to the gut and liver. 90% of your brain output goes straight down this Vagus nerve into the gut and liver. In the end, this will significantly effect liver detoxification.

Symptoms of poor Vagal Tone:
  • Constipation
  • Poor enzyme production
  • Floating stool or food in your stool
  • Poor liver detoxification
If this sounds like a challenge for you, I would suggest reviewing this article on the Gut/Brain Connection.

When discussing detoxification, it is always important to address your own body's chemical tolerance. This plays another significant role in your body's ability to detoxify properly. To learn more on this area of your body's detoxification read this article. We will address this even further within future articles.

If your liver detoxification pathways are challenged, this is typically expressed with the following symptoms:
  • Acne or unhealthy skin
  • Bloating
  • Swelling
  • Hormone imbalances
  • Weight gain
  • Poor bowel function
If your challenges with detoxification are tied into a loss of chemical tolerance, this is typically expressed with the following symptoms:
  • Intolerance to smells
  • Intolerance to jewelry
  • Intolerance to shampoo, lotions, detergents, ect.
  • Multiple food sensitivities
  • Constant skin outbreaks
Hopefully you have a much further understanding of the liver as well as other areas that tie into proper detoxification within your body. If you have any questions or concerns that pertain to this article, leave a post below and I will address this personally. If you see many challenges for yourself personally within this article, you are welcome to call my office directly to discuss the potential of address this with Depke Wellness either in office or via phone consultation. Can Detoxification Kill You?

by Glen Depke

Before we get going here let's look at some simple facts. The exposure to mercury is an almost inescapable consequence of human life, we are constantly exposed to an incredible amount of new chemical substances daily, with little or no testing to its affect on us as humans, and we are ALL toxic. Yes, you heard me. We are ALL toxic. Of course this will be to varying degrees but this is the truth none the less.

So what's a person to do?

Well according to the old paradigm in regard to detoxification you would use a urine or hair sample to "measure" the amount of toxins in your body and your health practitioner would then share the dangers of living with these toxins. From here you would receive the dissertation on the need to remove these toxins to regain your health and happiness. At this point you would learn of that particular practitioners favorite way of addressing or chelating the toxins and away you go. Now of course if anything went wrong it would simply be explained as detoxification symptoms. I think most or many of you are familiar with this story.

I have to honestly share that this is what I used to do in the past but there always seemed to be something with this that never made sense to me. Why would feeling better often feel so bad? That was the question that I always had for myself. Due to this questioning of the paradigm that I was taught, I have always taken a less than aggressive approach with detoxification and I trust that my clients are very happy about this.

Well, let me tell you, there is a new sheriff in town. I've always wanted to say that...

No really, there is more to detoxification that is not generally understood. First of all, it is recognized in multiple studies that most of the toxins that are removed via chelation type therapies actually simply transfer the toxins from the tissue into the brain. What, toxins in your brain! Yes, it is insane but often the case.

This is due to the fact that most individuals that are chemical sensitive don't simply have a toxicity issue, they have a chemical tolerance issue. This means that their ability to live with their toxic load is significantly lessened and they often live in constant pain and agony from anything new in their environment. I don't have to point this out any further, you know who you are.

If this is you, please understand that measuring your toxic load is of very little importance but addressing your lack of chemical tolerance is of utmost importance. If you go through chelation or any type of aggressive detoxification, the chemical load on your brain will seem insurmountable. If you have experienced this, I do not need to go any further. You already get this!

So why does this happen and what can you do about it?

This actually develops in two stages. First there is and initial yet profound breakdown in your natural tolerance. This then leads to a triggering of immune responses by small quantities of previously tolerated chemicals, such as exhaust, fragrances, foods, drugs, and often supplements. This reactivity to the environmental triggers can  lead to asthma, migraines, depression, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and autoimmunity.

Remember that it is not only the exposure to the toxin, it is the individuals lack of chemical tolerance that creates these issues.

So what creates the loss of chemical tolerances?

There are four significant challenges that create this as listed below.
  • Depletion of glutathione recycling
  • Regulatory T-cell failure
  • Breakdown of the barrier systems
  • Cytokine Dysregulation
While I understand that most do not know what I may be talking about here, I listed this so you can question your health care practitioner to discuss this.

I find that one of the most significant factors within my client base is tied into the depletion of your bodies ability to create and recycle glutathione. Glutathione is your body's primary anti-oxidant that also acts as a boost for all other anti-oxidants within the body. The lack of this proper recycling of glutathione leads to the breakdown of the blood/brain barrier, thus allowing chemical toxins to invade the brain. This often leads to an array of symptom challenges and brain inflammation that may seem unbearable.

This is why I say that you will not likely die from detoxification but you may wish you could.

In regard to your body's glutathione, I want to share the two biggest factors in this depletion, which are alcohol and stress. Any combination of one of or even worse, both, can lead to significant challenges with the loss of barrier function and lowering of chemical tolerances that can throw your health and balance completely out of control.

For those the would like a simple test to understand the balance and integrity for your blood/brain barrier balance and integrity, feel free to register for a complimentary 20 minute phone consultation with me personally  or call my office at 949.954.6226. This is too significant of a challenge to ignore.

Now or Later...It's Up to You!

by Glen Depke

How many times have you heard, "you can work hard now or you can work hard later?" This old saying can very easily be used in conjunction with your health. Look at our society, there are so many individuals that do not want to put any effort into their health now, only to suffer the consequences later. One of the problems is that so many have been fed the lies that you can simply damage your body without any worry because you will be able to use drugs or surgery to fix this later. Easy now and easy later mentality.

Good luck with that one!

We have actually been a 100 year experiment and let me share a secret with you.

The experiment failed!

I want to share that it really is not that difficult to find and maintain optimal health when you start looking for it, before you are sick. That makes life so much easier.

Many of the clients that come into my office start this journey after years of health challenges and I often think to myself, "I wish he/she would have come in years ago." I understand that we have not been taught to be proactive with our health but it is time to do something different. Different is the key, since we are a culture of trying to find a different result by doing the same thing.

You know the story...

I want you to understand, that if you have already waited to make some changes until after you have found your health challenged, it is not too late. I have had the pleasure of witnessing thousands of complete health turnarounds in my career and often with individuals that have been told by conventional doctors that they would not be able to overcome their health issues.

I am not one of those holistic practitioners that bashes the conventional medical system. Everything has a time and a place. I just find that for those with chronic illness, living a life of medications is not the answer. The answer lies in our own choice of taking charge of your health. Focusing on your fundamentals of health, addressing your mental/emotional stress, balancing your exhausted adrenal glands, dealing with your gut, immune and brain issues and ridding your body of the metabolic waste and toxins that poison you every day.

The current paradigm of drugs and surgery first, holistic health second and self care last is completely inverted. We should focus on self care first. If we stumble and find ourselves with challenges, seek out the assistance of someone in holistic care, such as a Naturopath (that would be me), Chiropractor, Acupuncturist, Herbalist, Homeopath or Body Work Therapist. Now if this still does not work, you may need the assistance of conventional medicine.
Do you see how this fits though?

While this may sound like a lot of work, I can share that it is quite simple when taken in steps. This is a focus for me with all of my clients. Take it one step at a time, create success and take the next step. You simply continue to move forward until you have reached the level of health and happiness that you desire. You did not get sick in month and your are not going to completely turn your health around in a month either. Take your time, create success and always move forward.

I am never the one to tell you what level this may be (you're desired health that is). This is your decision, it's your life and you are the one that has to live in it.

Some of my clients never stop learning and growing and a in a constant state of flux to be the best they can be in every moment. Others are simply happy to have significant improvement and live out their lives on this level without putting forth any deeper understandings. Remember, it is all up to you.
What I am really trying to get through to you today is the understanding that if you put forth some effort now, it will actually be much easier later.

I believe the natural aging process is about living a healthy, vibrant life, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually until very close to the end of life. At this point, there is a very steep and dramatic decline and we die.

Lots of fun and excitement, living our greatness and leaving the world a better place when we left than when we came.

Sounds much more inviting than the "natural" aging process. You know, we vibrant in our twenties, gain weight in our thirties, begin to develop chronic challenges in our forties, diagnosed with significant challenges in our fifties and succumb to the knife and pill organizers for our meds in our sixties. There's nothing "natural" about this.
It is simply watching "sick" people get old.
Now or later, it is truly up to you!
