What is the ONE thing that leads to Fibro Suffering?
So what is my recommendation if someone tells you that they have the ONE single thing for you to address if you are suffering with Fibromyalgia?
RUN!!!
I say this because it is NEVER one thing. You are typically looking at multiple imbalances functionally within the body that need to be addressed individually and as a whole.
I will share that from my years as in Dr. Mercola’s clinic, Fibromyalgia and CFS patients were unfortunately a regular occurrence for us. I say unfortunate due to the pain and suffering these patients would be in on a regular basis.
The positive that was pulled out of this though, is recognizing that time and time again, when you address these imbalances, the body has the ability to heal and walk away from this pain and suffering.
I know, if you are one of the many with Fibromyalgia, you may be thinking that you are already addressing this and do not find the relief you are looking for. The one very important factor to remember is to keep moving forward. As you eliminate one imbalance after another, you will eventually reach your goals. The only people that I have not seen reach this, is those that gave up before these goals were attained.
So what are some of the keys factors that I have seen as imbalances over the years? I will share this below and you can use this as a check list for your journey.
· GI Pathogens
· Chemical Toxicity
· Heavy Metal Toxicity
· Gluten/Cross Reactive Sensitivity
· Autoimmune Reaction
Many of these areas listed will directly affect other factors within the body and often when you address the underlying factors the other imbalances take care of themselves. For instance, I typically recognize a poor functioning thyroid and an adrenal and liver imbalance. When these are addressed the thyroid function improves.
The main focus of this article is to bring awareness that it is NEVER just ONE thing. Look at yourself as a whole and you will find your health and balance!

Toxic Effects of High Cortisol
Aging Process
Excessive production of Cortisol accelerates the Aging Process in the Skin.
Cardiovascular System
Excessive production/release of Cortisol can cause Hypertension.
Immune System
Excessive production/release of Cortisol weakens various aspects of the Immune System:
- Excessive production/release of Cortisol inhibits the body's production of Antibodies.
- Excessive production/release of Cortisol reduces the number of circulating Lymphocytes.
Metabolism
Excessive levels of Cortisol can cause Fatigue.
Cortisol breaks down Proteins into Amino Acids and converts them to Glycogen in the Liver.
Excessive production of Cortisol can cause Insulin Resistance.
Excessive levels of Cortisol can cause Lethargy.
Excessive levels of Cortisol contribute to the development of Obesity.
Musculoskeletal System
Supraphysiologic quantities of Cortisol decreases the endogenous synthesis of Protein in the Muscles and causes the breakdown (catabolism) of Muscle tissue, thereby inhibiting Muscle Growth.
Excessive production of Cortisol can cause Muscle Injury, Muscle Pain and Muscle Weakness (due to reduced repair of Muscles caused by Cortisol).
Excessive production of Cortisol can cause Osteoporosis (by accelerating bone loss and by inhibiting the repair of Bone).
Nervous System
Excessive Cortisol levels increases the rate of Neuron death in Alzheimer's Disease patients.
Excessive production of Cortisol is an underlying cause of Cushing’s Syndrome.
Excessive production of Cortisol may cause (initially) Euphoria but this is generally followed by subsequent Depression:
- Many Major Depression patients are found to have elevated (>0.594 ng/ml of saliva) evening Cortisol levels.
Excessive production of Cortisol damages the Hippocampus.
Prolonged exposure to excessive levels of Cortisol interferes with the ability of the Hypothalamus respond to the negative feedback mechanism that permits it to reduce its secretion of Cortisol in response to higher than normal circulating Cortisol levels. This loss of sensitivity in the Hypothalamus is known as Hyperadaptosis.
Excessive Cortisol damages the structure of and interferes with the functions of several regions of the Brain associated with Memory.
Excessive Cortisol can cause the acceleration of the death of Neurons.
Elevated night-time Cortisol levels interrupt entry into Rapid Eye Movement (REM) Sleep (excessive Cortisol can therefore impair the quality of Sleep).
Excessive Cortisol levels are implicated in Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) (SAD patients generally exhibit elevated Cortisol levels).
Cortisol is produced and released within the body in response to Stress.
Sexual System
Excessive Cortisol production has been linked to an increased risk for Pre-Menstrual Syndrome (PMS).
Skin
Excessive Cortisol levels inhibit the regeneration and repair of the Skin and excessive Cortisol accelerates the Aging Process in the Skin.
Excessive Cortisol impairs the healing of Wounds and can result in excessive Scarring following Wounds.
Water/Water Balance
Excessive Cortisol levels can cause Edema.
Cortisol (Undesirably) Enhances these Substances
________________________________________
Enzymes
Cortisol stimulates the production of Tryptophan Pyrrolase.
Cortisol Interferes with these Substances
________________________________________
Amino Acids
Cortisol decreases the body’s Glutamine levels:
- Cortisol increases the quantity of Glutamine that is “leached” from Muscle Fibers during and following Intensive Exercise.
Cortisol stimulates the destruction of Tryptophan (via the Tryptophan Pyrrolase enzyme).
Hormones
Elevated Cortisol levels inhibit the production of Testosterone.
Elevated Cortisol levels inhibit the release of Human Growth Hormone (hGH).
Immune System Chemicals
Cortisol inhibits the production of Interleukin 1 (however this aspect of Cortisol is desirable when Interleukin 1 is produced in excessive amounts).
Cortisol inhibits the production of Tumor Necrosis Factor- (this is desirable in some situations and undesirable in other situations).
Proteins
Cortisol decreases the synthesis of Endogenous Proteins.

Where do I Find Wellness?
It is of utmost importance to recognize that you always find health and wellness within yourself and never externally. With this in mind, I can share that I have recognized some key patterns that lead to overall imbalances and symptoms of disease. These patterns that I will address are the recognized core challenges for at least 90% of dis-ease and the pain and suffering of symptoms.
The first place to look is within your fundamentals, yet this is the simple starting point that is so often overlooked. I like to compare building your health to building a house. When you are building a house you have fundamentals such as bricks, lumber, nails, roofing, ect. When you are building your health you also have fundamentals. These fundamentals are listed below in matter of importance but note that while they have a matter of importance but are also of equal importance, if that makes sense to you. When addressing these we are looking at providing your body with proper amounts of oxygen, water, nutrition correct for your bio-chemical individuality, proper restful sleep habits, adequate bodily movement on every level and regular exposure to the sun per your skin tone. The foundation of this house is built through your overall energy flow, which is so often blocked by negative emotions that are suppressed or expressed in an unhealthy way. To get further information on your fundamentals of health visit this link.
If any of the fundamentals of health are imbalanced for any length of time, the next area to be challenged is your adrenal glands. Once the adrenals are challenged for a length of time this will more than likely lead to issues within your gastrointestinal health. From there the body finds it difficult to detoxify with the eventual result of the pain and suffering of symptoms. This cycle then continues and unfortunately the symptoms challenges generally get worse; not better.
I don’t typically recommend addressing everything at once. This is generally too much for most people and honestly does not set up the body for proper healing. Always address the fundamentals first, followed by the adrenals. Based on my years of experience this is the best way to find your health. Once you balance these two areas, often you will find yourself back in balance. If you have not found your balance at that point then you know you need to look at the gastrointestinal tract and detoxification. Steps though…working in steps is so important. What’s the old saying, “Rome wasn’t built in a day?”
The reason why the adrenals are so important to address is due to the impact the adrenals have on your body.
Your adrenals have a direct effect functionally on the areas listed below.
* Endocrine System
* Metabolism of Fat and Protein
* Detoxification
* Immune System Function
* Inflammation
* Blood Sugar Balance
* Muscular/Skeletal Health
* Neural Connectivity
Often my clients can look at this list and pick out many areas that they already recognize as challenged. Don’t let time add to the list for you. Get your adrenal kit now.
Another important aspect of addressing adrenal exhaustion is to assess your adrenal function and utilize a protocol to allow your body to assist the adrenals back into balance. This has been a big part of my protocol all the way back to my days working alongside Dr. Mercola back in the Chicago area.
If you are ready to truly find wellness and desire to move the body back into balance based on the patterns discussed within the article, feel free to visit this link. Here you can order your adrenal test kit or to save yourself some cash, you can purchase a package that includes the test kit and the results session. Do not be concerned if you do not live in Southern California. I regularly consult with phone sessions throughout the United States and Canada.
If you feel that this might be for you but would like to get further information, this is easy. Follow this link and you can set up a COMPLIMENTARY phone consult with me personally to get what you need to make an informed decision.
Thank you for taking your time to review this article and I look forward to assisting you in any way that I can.
